Our Project Team

All of our senior management have had long experience in managing and delivering technical assistance projects. We regard this as an essential requirement to ensure that there is a complete understanding between the company administration and those delivering projects in the field.

In addition to high academic qualifications all of our consultants and trainers have been highly successful beforehand in their own fields, whether it be government, the commercial world or social development. They bring a vast resource of experience from their work in the United Kingdom. The experience of economic and social transition in Scotland is of particular value to the new states of Eastern Europe. All of the experts and consultants have considerable experience in delivering technical assistance projects in difficult environments and their approach to training and consultancy is focused upon achieving practical solutions based on an understanding of the clients and recipients. Many of them have previously worked together over a number of projects and are well used to working in teams.

Scottish Overseas Development has also developed a considerable volume of high quality local experts who have derived their experience from the implementation of both commercial and donor funded projects.

Our project teams can be augmented by highly skilled short-term experts in specific technical areas drawn from our extensive network of partnerships with major institutions and organizations both within the United Kingdom and throughout Europe.

Recruitment Policy

Scottish Overseas Development does not maintain a large database. We have slowly built our teams based upon personal recommendation and careful vetting of all applicants. We do not recruit from advertisements but would welcome applications directly from experts who would like to join our team .
